Exterior work runs on photos. Customers text you a picture of the damaged siding or the sagging gutter and ask "how much?" After a storm, the phone rings all at once. That's exactly where an AI assistant earns its keep.
1. Photo-based quotes
Have customers text photos. AI can sort them, describe what's visible, and draft a ballpark estimate from your price sheet for you to check. You still confirm on site, but you weed out tire-kickers and load the truck right.
2. Storm surges
After a wind or hail storm, you might get 30 calls in a day. An AI phone or text assistant can collect the address, the damage, photos and the customer's insurance situation, and put them in a list you can schedule from. Nobody falls through the cracks.
3. Insurance paperwork
Storm jobs often involve insurance. AI can write clear scope-of-work descriptions, organize photos with captions, and draft letters. Know your state's rules about contractors and insurance claims, and never act as a public adjuster unless you're licensed to.
4. Matching and sourcing
Describe the siding profile and color, and AI can search for possible matches and suppliers, faster than calling around. Verify before you order.
5. Follow-ups and reviews
A follow-up two days after every quote, and a review request after every job. Reviews that mention the repair and the town help you get found on Google Maps and named by AI search tools.
6. Before-and-after content
Your job photos are marketing gold. AI can caption them, pick the best ones for your Google profile and website, and write a short post about each job.
7. Scheduling around weather
Ask AI to help plan the week around the forecast, and draft the texts that move customers when rain hits.
Keep it honest
Don't let AI make promises, price final jobs or write anything you haven't read. You're the contractor; it's the helper.
